Amy Perez started in the field of massage therapy after completing the 300-hour program at the Texas School of Massage, finishing her certification in 2009 at Miller-Motte Technical College of Wilmington, North Carolina. Continuing in a proud family tradition, Amy started her career path in studying to be a Certified Massage Therapist during her senior year of high school. With over 1500 hours of training, Amy has the most up-to-date classroom knowledge of therapeutic massage. While she has studied Eastern and Western practices of wellness, her main focus is in Deep Tissue, Medical, and therapeutic massages. Amy is also well versed in Swedish massage, Sports massage, Prenatal massage, Reflexology, and Trigger Point Therapy. She is currently continuing her education and completing lessons in Hot Stone therapy and other medical modalities.
 
Angela Cardella graduated from Mueller College of Holistic Studies in San Diego, CA in 2002, where she was enrolled in both Western and Asian Studies.  Soon after graduation, she moved to Iwakuni, Japan for 6 years, where she built a successful massage practice. She has continued expand her  knowledge for natural healing techniques by travelling to Chiang Mai, Thailand several times to become proficient in Thai-Yoga massage and Thai Foot Reflexology.

Angela blends Western therapeutic massage techniques (Swedish, Deep Tissue, Myofacial Release, Sports, Medical) with Eastern modalities (Shiatsu/Acupressure, Asian Fire Cupping, Thai Massage, Thai foot Reflexology) in each massage to create a balanced and holistic experience for her clients. The spectrum of people who enjoy her work are diverse and range from pregnant women, athletes, senior citizens, cancer patients, people with chronic pain, fibromyalgia, and injuries…to those who simply want to relax.
 
Cisco Arnold is a Nationally and Virginia state Certified Massage Therapist. He has a particular interest in medical massage, with a specialization in issues relating to the neck, shoulder, and head. Since the completion of the 600 hour program at NVCC, he has completed nearly over 90 additional credit hours of continuing education and is currently pursuing a master's level courses. In addition to working as a Massage Therapist, he has been involved in martial arts instruction for ten years. Modality specializations Craniosacral therapy, Neuromuscular therapy methods, sports massage, and Tai chi on the table (Somatic Functional Restructuring).
   
Dianna Marsden is a resident of Stafford and new to Massage Matters. She completed the 600-hour program in therapeutic massage at the National Massage Therapy Institute (NMTI) in Falls Church, Virginia and is qualified for national certification and licensure by the State of Virginia. Dianna has a background in Qi Gong therapy from the Chinese Healing Arts Center of Master T.K. Sheih of Danbury, Connecticut. She is continuing her study in external Qi Gong and eurythmy (the expressive movement art of Rudolf Steiner) which she studied in Germany and the U.S. under Dr. Robert Powell.

Dianna's interest is in the integration of body, mind, and spirit and working with people who have chronic pain issues. She works with Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone, and other modalities to create a positive healing and relaxation experience for her clients.
   
James Ronnie Smith graduated from Medical Careers College, or MCC, in Richmond in November 2007 and became fully licensed in January 2008. He chose MCC because of its status as one of the top schools in all of Virginia and the opportunities it's able to give its students. While at MCC Ronnie received over 1000 hours of extensive hands on and classroom training. He is very skilled in Swedish and Deep Tissue modalities of massage and can provide Sports massage as well. While giving a massage Ronnie is very attentive and loves to figure out how he turn every massage into an overwhelmingly relaxing and beneficial experience. Massage is a passion of Ronnie's and he is very grateful to be able to share it in a way that can benefit everyone.
   
Jurwanna Schlesinger has been in the massage therapy industry for several years. She earned her AOS (Associates of Occupational Studies) Degree after attending Heritage Institute in Manassas, Virginia. Jurwana successfully completed her internship at a chiropractic clinic which has allowed her to further her knowledge in the art of natural healing. Jurwana is skilled in tailoring her massages to meet the specific needs of her very satisfied clients. She has also received her certificationthrough the NCBTMB (National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork) and is certified by the state of Virginia for massage. Jurwana is very experienced in Swedish, Deep Tissue, Hot Stone, Chair, Prenatal, Trigger Point, Sports and Myofascial modalities. She has also been trained in Reiki energy work.

Kananad Srihatakool first attended the Thai Massage School in Bangkok, Thailand to learn Thai Foot Massage, and after moving to the United States, finished her training and graduated from the LA Vocational Institute Massage School in Los Angeles, California. She has over 2000 hours and 10 years experience in practicing Thai massage, and is constantly perfecting her techniques and applying what she learns to each massage modality she practices. She has a great sense of humor and tries to get to know her clients as best she can so as to give them the best experience possible. She believes having a therapist you can trust and feel comfortable with is of the utmost importance in healing your body and mind. The modalities Kananad can perform at Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports, Medical, Thai Yoga, Hot Stone, Reflexology, Prenatal, and Aromatherapy massages.
   
Melissa Johnson has always been a student of science, from her experience as a technician for many years at a Veterinary clinic up through her certification as a massage therapist and beyond. She attended the Piedmont School of Professional Massage in 2001. She has focused on Medical massage and its ability to help heal the human body through scientific means and the logical and regular way the human body corrects itself. Using her background in orthopedic massage and the ETPS machine, Melissa promises a unique massage experience based on modern medicine adapted to the field of massage therapy. Melissa can perform Swedish, Deep Tissue, General Medical, Sports, Reflexology, and Geriatric massage, as well as ETPS therapy.
 
Michele Zeberlein graduating from the South Carolina Massage and Esthetics Institute for Swedish and Deep Tissue massage in 2008, Michele Zeberlein has continued to expand her repertoire of massage modalities. Operating her own massage business in South Carolina and then joining the staff of local Chiropractic office and wellness center, she expanded her massage skills and joined the Massage Matters family in early 2012. In her time here, she has proven her talents as a massage therapist and is an invaluable member of our staff.

Michele is able to perform Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports, General Medical, Prenatal, and Hot Stone among her massage abilities, but takes special pride in her ability to do non-aggressive Deep Tissue, which features all the benefits of deeper pressure without all the extra post-massage soreness.
   
Rachel Young graduated from National Massage Therapy Institute in Falls Church, VA in 2009 and passed the NCBTMB National Certification exam two weeks later. She became a massage therapist because she wants to help people feel better and teach them simple but effective ways of taking care of their bodies, and managing their pain through massage and muscle stretching techniques. If she can get her clients to live day to day without having to rely on pain medicine, then she has knows that she has done her job.

Rachel possesses a strong background in a Chiropractic setting working in an office in Front Royal, until joining the Massage Matters family in March 2011. She is skilled in several different types of massage including Deep Tissue, Swedish, Sports, Pre-Natal, Hot Stone, Medical, Reflexology, Aromatherapy, and Myofascial Release and can incorporate several modalities into a specific massage for each individual client.
   
Sabrina Alvarez was educated at Northwest Health Careers in Las Vegas. After graduating high school she was encouraged by her mother to pursue massage therapy, as she always had told Sabrina that she had a nurturing spirit and hands that could do wonders. After graduating from school she worked with chiropractors in Las Vegas, NV for 2 years. She then moved to Virginia and continued to work with Chiropractors and eventually expanded her knowledge to sports massage. Sabrina then took a special interest in the medical/sport and wellness aspect of her career. Shešs learned that there are many people that live with physical discomfort and she feels a great deal of joy helping people alleviate their pain. Sabrina has been a massage therapist for over four years and can do Swedish, Deep Tissue, Medical, Hot Stone, Prenatal, and Aromatherapy massages.
   
Sarah Mullins is a Nationally Certified and State Licensed Massage Therapist. She has been practicing massage for eight years. Sarah was trained at Career Training Solutions and graduated in early 2002. She stated working that summer in a massage clinic in Historic Fredericksburg. Working there gave her a great foundation in therapeutic, deep tissue, and medical massage. After a year and a half she wanted to work closer to her home in Stafford. Sarah found a job at a local spa and stayed there for just shy of five years. She left there in the fall of 2008, taking time off from doing massage full time. When Sarah was ready to return to massage full time she wanted to go back to her roots of Therapeutic massage. That is how she found Massage Matters. Sarah has been with us since March of 2009. She has had a wide range of training and experience over the years and we are lucky to have her as part of our team. Sarah looks forward to working with you and showing you why massage matters!
 
Stacy Hicks graduated from PSPM, the Piedmont School of Professional Massage, in June of 2000 as a Certified Massage Therapist, and has worked in the massage and spa industry for the last eleven years. Her current career path is thanks to her mother, who used to give her $5 for the “best massages ever;” now, while her rates are a bit different , she still keeps the youthful enthusiasm for massage she has had since childhood. She owned and operated her own spa located in Woodbridge, VA until she joined the Massage Matters family in March of 2009. Since then, she has brought the joy of massage to countless clients throughout the Stafford area. With a finesse clients have described as ‘deep pressure without the pain,’ she has mastered the art of Deep Tissue, practiced Prenatal for expecting mothers from the 1st few weeks of pregnancy to help bring on contractions, prepared athletes in pre-event readiness and post event recovery with stretching, flexibility and her customized Sports massage, and even brought the art of La Stone, a specialized form of Hot Stone therapy, to any and all who book with her. She is also open to any continuing education suggestions to perfect her already frequently requested routines. Stacy is now lead therapist at Massage Matters, and looks forward to being the link between our therapists and our clients, bringing all requests for services and changes to the ears of the management.
   
Linda Osorio Operating Manager Linda Osorio has lived in the Stafford community for 25 years and has fallen in love with the bustling little haven of country meeting city. She had been practicing massage and promoting wellness for over 5 years when she saw the need for increased awareness of people's personal wellness goals. She helped establish Massage Matters LLC, a center of knowledge and wellness practices, promoting good health through massage. She has brought together the best therapists in the area under one roof for every resident of Stafford and the surrounding areas of Fredericksburg, King George, Spotsylvania, Woodbridge, and all the way up to Northern Virginia to come enjoy relaxation, stress relief, pain relief, and therapeutic massage for their everyday health. She currently is managing the main Massage Matters center, as well as organizing chair massage and wellness classes for local businesses and the community.  While she no longer does massage, her passion for massage and wellness still spearheads the mission of our business to bring preventative health education to the Stafford area.
   
Manager Valarie Adams is a long time native in Stafford County and takes customer service to a whole new level. Understanding your needs and placing you with the correct therapist, based on your request, is her specialty. Along with her higher education in insurance and billing, she also brings education on preventive health care. Once you meet her you'll soon find her to be a good friend.
   
Manager Brian K. Thaler is a recent graduate of the University of Mary Washington with a Bachelor’s Degree in English. A native of Culpeper County, he has decided to remain in the wonderful Stafford area for the time-being until he can pursue his dream of screenwriting and directing feature films. Since beginning to work at Massage Matters, he has seen the positive effects that massage can provide first-hand, and enthusiastically helps each new client find a therapist and modality to fit their needs.
